YOU HAVE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT WITH YOUR COMPANY. Because it is a contract, if you break it by cancelling (without reinstating) then you will incur a fee.

UNLESS YOU PAID YOUR POLICY IN FULL UP FRONT, you will have a payment due every month, usually on the same date you purchased the policy.  For instance, if you purchased an auto policy on March 15, then your monthly payments will be due on the 15th of every month for the duration of your policy term.

IF YOU DO NOT MAKE YOUR INSURANCE PAYMENT ON OR BEFORE THE DUE DATE, you will incur a late fee. Your company will give you a grace period of about 15 days before they cancel your policy. However you must make your payment before the grace period ends to avoid cancellation and extra fees.

IF YOUR POLICY CANCELS, you might can reinstate it. This is the best option, so give us a call to see if this will work for you!

THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD FOR RENEWALS.  Once your term ends, it ends.  Your company may send you a renewal offer for your next term.  Be sure and check it out, but remember, we write for many companies and this is the perfect time to get free requotes!

FOR OUR AUTO INSURANCE CUSTOMERS: The state of North Carolina requires liability insurance be carried on any vehicle with a tag.  If you do not have insurance and you have a tag, then you will be fined, even if it is only one day. If you don’t pay the fine, they can take your tags and your license.
